Literature Review on the Healthcare System in Peru

This artifact is a literature review written for my Technical Spanish for Health Management Professionals class. This assignment involved selecting a country, conducting comprehensive research on its healthcare system, and writing a literature review. In this paper, I analyzed Peru’s healthcare system, focusing on its structure, recent reforms, the processes of decentralization, and the overall performance and conditions. For example, I found that the 2013 reform in Peru led to an increase in the population's health insurance coverage from 64% to 73% (Velásquez et al., 2016). This paper helped me strengthen my ability to discuss and interpret health data and topics in both English and Spanish. It also challenged me to expand my Spanish healthcare vocabulary and develop more complex sentence structures. I plan to carry these language skills into my future healthcare career to foster clear and effective communication with patients.

Literature Review on Domestic Violence in the Hispanic Community

This artifact is a literature review written for my Health in the Hispanic Community class. This assignment involved selecting a health issue affecting the Hispanic and Latino community, conducting research, comparing sources, identifying trends, and writing a literature review. I chose to examine domestic violence, focusing on its prevalence, impact, and potential solutions within the community. This paper helped me strengthen my ability to communicate complex health topics in Spanish, using correct vocabulary and advanced sentence structures. This paper also challenged me to analyze a health issue from multiple perspectives. I expanded my knowledge of the Latino population and the health challenges they face. In the future, I will be able to use the linguistic and cultural skills gained to effectively care for patients from different cultural backgrounds.
